This week I am creating my unit 2 lessons and still revising unit 1. I am back and forth about what I want to do and how to incorporate different things into my lessons. Is anyone else having this issue?
I will be teaching my second lesson on Thursday where I will be observed by my FPF. I was super nervous last week being observed, but I am feeling a bit more relaxed this week even with all the people who are going to be in the room. My FPF will be observing but I will also have the classroom teacher in the room, a guest speaker (a friend who is a police officer), and now the school principal would like to sit in to get pictures of the police officer talking to the class. So now I will have 4 people in the room with me during my lesson! Ekk Over the years of teaching you will be observed many times, so it is best to get over the fear of being observed now! 🙂
You are so right when you say we will be observed many times over the years of teaching. It is slightly nerve racking until you get started. Look at it as a great thing that the principal is coming in for pictures. When I told the teacher I work with that the principal wanted to sit in she told me something great. She said think of it as your moment to shine and showcase what you can do so you impress them!! Good luck! I’m sure you will be awesome!!

Amanda,
I will be observed on Tuesday for the first time by my FPF. I am nervous too. I am trying to calm my nerves by telling my self that I am new at this and they don’t expect me to be perfect. Even if I had been teaching for 10 plus years my teaching wouldn’t be perfect. When it comes to teaching there is always more room to improve. FPF’s want to help us! Good luck!

My advice to you is to re-read your lessons several times. Do a quick run down of your lesson by memory and see how well you do. Be confident and be yourself. You will do great! I promise!
